Organic Gardening & Survival Skills Project- Northern BC, Canada

Hi Everyone,

We are looking for a few people to join us between April 15 and Oct. 1 on our beautiful wilderness homestead on Atlin Lake. We have been a WWOOF host for over 20 years, hosting world travelers to learn about organic gardening. This year we are bringing together a group of people who are serious about practicing wilderness survival and primitive skills. We have learned about survival and bush skills over the years, and would like to expand our knowledge by inviting others with experience to live on our land with us this spring, summer, and fall. We have a garden and greenhouses so people can help weed and water and there will be enough greens for us all to eat. We also grow sprouts and micro-greens. Atlin Lake is ideal for Lake Trout fishing; we catch alot of fresh fish which is an important food source for us. We want to practice survival shelter building, hunting, route finding in the mountains, and other skills together. We are looking for people who want to practice non-violent communication, so we can move past any conflict through empathy and an understanding of each other. We feel that being a strong team working positively together is paramount to survival. We have a 7 year old boy and would welcome families with children. We also have a professional practice in the healing arts, and can share our knowledge in that area. We are hoping to meet more people with similar interests. Please ask questions if you want to know more about us.

Hello There! @Warmsprings We have heard of your homestead and you folks numerous times over the last little bit from old friends, travellers and from this site. Sophie and myself are on a little trip from Northern BC(not northern to you!) up to the arctic circle and would love to come check out your place in Atlin and meet you folks. We both have some experience woofing and in off-grid and communal living and are very interested in wild harvest, homesteading, wilderness living and a deep love for the mountains, and would love to share what we know and learn more! We will swing by Atlin on our way south and it would be awesome to meet you and help out for a week or two if possible. We are thinking we will be back down Atlin way in 3 weeks or so, Mid-July. would you be interested in having a couple of volunteers for a short time?

Hi Caylin,

We are completely booked up with volunteers this summer. There is free public camping across the road if you are drawn to this area.
