Fall fish camp party

Our fall salmon runs will be here relatively soon.

There has been some interest expressed in coming out to help with fish camp. It’s a pretty busy time of year for us. Salmon to be caught and cleaned and smoked. Moose hunting. So many fucking berries. Possibly finishing up a few building projects, such as a smoke house.
We’d love to get the chance to meet some of you and spend some time together. It’s also a great opportunity to help out with the community, learn a few skills and spend some time in the woods.

We are very close to working out some transportation issues that seem to be the major barrier for many people.

We potentially have space for 4-5 people to participate. Please let us know soon if you are interested.

What time frame are you looking at? What has the response been so far?

The time frame is now until the 1st of October, but coming for less than a few weeks isn’t really logistically smart for us, due to the remoteness of our camp. We have a few people signed up to come help but there is still room for a few more.

I was thinking around the first of Sept.

Am I crazy for thinking of driving up there? Anyone want to catch a ride?

I wish I could catch a ride with you Jeff. I don’t have a passport currently.

Anyone want to buy me a ticket? I can trade a huge mule deer buckskin, braintan icelandic sheep hides, buckskin mittens, a handbound journal (with sheep hide bark tan that I made), knife sheaths with a mora knife, or potentially other stuff. A ticket is around $475-$500. If I miss fish camp, I’d still like to go up sometime. September 15 through October 1st is $405.

I REALLY WANT TO GO, so on the remote chance anyone want to trade for that stuff let me know. I not only want to visit, I need to talk to Jennifer and Andrew about my plans to start a Feralculture non-profit, and various fundraising/propaganda projects I have planned.

So, if you want to help make a Feralculture non-profit happen faster than later and give me the trip of a lifetime contact me soon. (dennis dot lanigan at gmail dot com; or just message me here).

Oh and I’m an experienced salmon processor, hunter (just small game though), rifle shooter, skinner/butcher (large and small game), hide tanner, shoe/moccasin maker, canoe paddler, and round pole builder. So I’d be a lot of help I think. Help me out!
